Different types of migration methods used to migrate from your current infrastructure to office 365

Office 365 Migration is a cloud based tool that enables the organization to store the confidential data and help the employees to gain access to that data from any place across the globe. Many companies are showing interest to migrate from their current infrastructure, i.e. Microsoft exchange server to office 365. However, if you want to migrate to the office 365 securely and without any flaws, then you have to hire an IT support firm or the firm who provides cloud services. There are three different types of Office 365 Migration methods available. You need to pick the right migration method as per your business needs, scope and challenges involved prior to making a big move. Basically, here are the three different migration methods explained in detail

Cutover migration: This method is appropriate for small size businesses. You can use this migration method to transfer mailboxes, contacts, mail groups to the office 365. This type of Office 365 Migration method can only transfer 2,000 mailboxes and for transferring these mailboxes it takes a lot of time. However, the time for migrating the mailboxes to the cloud tool totally relies on the mailboxes, users, and the number of mails in the mailboxes. The drawback of this migration method is that, the exchange server and office 365 will not synchronize after this migration process. You will receive the latest mails to your Office 365 Migration instead to your local exchange server.

Staged migration: Similar to cut over migration, you cannot transfer more than 2000 mailboxes with this Office 365 Migration method too. However, you can move the mailboxes in small chucks to the office 365 for a few days. The best part of this Office 365 Migration is that, you will be in sync with the local exchange server until the migration process is completed.

Hybrid migration: In this type of Office 365 Migration method, you can transfer the more than 2000 mailboxes from the latest version of exchange servers to office 365. The best part of this Office 365 Migration method is that, the organization can keep a few users in the Microsoft exchange server and move the selected users to the office 365.
